    A Message from Jane Goodall

Welcome to our Web site. I hope you enjoy and even join in the many conversations and inspirational stories about endangered species protection and restoration that you’ll find here.

When I first began writing Hope for Animals and Their World I never imagined what a huge and far reaching book this would become: By the time I finished the first manuscript it was over 700 pages! Clearly this was too unwieldy for a book, and yet the stories and information we gathered were so important and inspiring, it seemed unthinkable to just file them away.

The stories shared here illustrate the resilience of nature, and the persistence and determination of the men and women who have fought – sometimes for decades – to save the last survivors of a species, refusing to give up. The stories also show how one determined and passionate individual can inspire others so that, together, they can play a major role in saving a species.
