| 04/12/10 | Jane Goodall – Hope For Animals and Their World in Ottowa, ON | Dominion Chalmers United Church |
| Time: 8:00pm. Admission: $30/Free for Festival Members; M. Dr. Goodall will make a special appearance at the Ottawa International Writers Festival as part of their Global Perspective Series. She will share stories from her newest book, Hope for Animals and Their World: How Endangered Species are Being Rescued from the Brink. At a time when animal species are becoming extinct at an accelerating pace and we are confronted with bad news about the environment nearly every day, Dr. Goodall brings us inspiration about the future of the animal kingdom…if we act now. With the insatiable curiosity and conversational prose that have made her a bestselling author, Dr. Goodall—along with Cincinnati Zoo Director Thane Maynard—shares fascinating survival stories about the American crocodile, the California condor, the black-footed ferret, and many other species from around the world that have been rescued from extinction and whose habitats are being protected and/or restored. Her tales also serve as a wake-up call about the extreme efforts needed to save animals once their numbers reach low levels and much of their environment has been destroyed. | ||
